Do I need a CPAP?

A man and hiw wife speaking to a doctor about their new cpap machine.

Depending on the results of your sleep study along with any other underlying conditions, your doctor might prescribe to you a CPAP machine.

This line of treatment is the most common and effective at treating sleep apnea. A CPAP machine delivers a stream of continuous positive pressure to keep your airway open as you sleep and reduce the number of disruptions you experience while sleeping as a result of sleep apnea.

By becoming compliant and using your CPAP machine regularly, you will feel much more awake and alert throughout the day. In addition, any other symptoms associated with your sleep apnea, such as high blood pressure or obesity, may reduce drastically as well.
