What if I already have a CPAP Prescription?

A doctor is holding an ipad that shows a prescription for a cpap

If you recently got a prescription for a cpap machine, then you are in the right place.

Depending on the results of your sleep study, your doctor will be able to diagnose any existing sleep disorder and recommend a line of treatment.

There are many different courses of action at this point ranging anywhere from changing your eating and sleeping habits to using a medical device or even surgery. Any recommendation will be made based on your sleep study and the severity of your sleep apnea whether it be mild, moderate, or severe.

A medical device in the form of a positive airway pressure machine is the most common treatment option. Positive airway pressure treatment can vary slightly with machines providing a continuous level of pressure (CPAP), two alternating levels of pressure (BiPAP/VPAP), or even an automated level of pressure tailored to your breathing at that time (Auto-PAP).
